The Dietz & Watson Merchandiser's main job function is to assist with sales and create brand awareness. A sales merchandiser should have the knowledge of our products as it relates to the deli.
The duties of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser are listed below but not limited to: Safely operate a deli slicer Set up of deli cases and appropriately rotate deli product Understand and execute schematics/planograms Maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS) Needs to be a self-starter, work in a team environment and or with little or no supervision Manage time effectively and productively Complete all reports as necessary including store surveys Consistently provide coverage to all stores within assigned territory based on store ranking Make regular store visits documenting all concerns/problems (i.e. shortages, equipment problems, ordering issues, etc.) and addressing these concerns in a timely manner Build and maintain customer relationships by displaying high-level customer service techniques to deli managers, employees, and store customers Possess the knowledge and ability to both create and market Dietz & Watson programs Training of all new store deli hires on the merits of Dietz & Watson and refresh training when needed Communicate any information deemed necessary to Merchandiser Manager (i.e. grand openings, store closing, etc.) Utilizing the monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distribution Explore opportunities for sales growth w/Merchandiser Manager Maintain full displays Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment Perform special projects outside of assigned territory Understand product knowledge and food safety best practices Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirements Standing, Bending, Twisting Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasional Push /pull carts containing product - occasionally up to 100 lbs. Walking Reaching Use of both hands and arms Operate a motor vehicle Must be able to work in a safety sensitive position General Working Conditions/Environment Room Temperature while in stores At times being in refrigerated cooler areas Job Requirements Must be able to speak, read and write English Military experience welcomed Must have proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Must possess excellent communication, organization, creativity, and customization skills Exercise strong time management skills. Including scheduling, planning and prioritizing workloads Must be able to exercise independent decision-making skills on a regular basis Creative and innovative thinking Occasional weekend work (Special Customer Event) High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of customer service/sales experience preferred. Previous deli experience is a plus Must have a reliable vehicle and must have a valid driver's license Must be able to pass the company issued Serv Safe test
