We are currently looking for a Microbiology Associate to join our growing team in Columbus, Ohio! JOB SUMMARY This key role will perform duties and experiments as required and outlined in SOPs and maintain logs/record keeping for the laboratory. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare growth media plates and gram stains used for microbial product testing. Operate and perform routine calibration on laboratory equipment such as balances/scales, pipettes, pH meters, and incubators. Maintain and update equipment history logs for refrigerators, incubators, freezers, and any other equipment utilized by the Microbiology department. Clean and sterilize laboratory items (glassware) using an autoclave. Log test data and results on laboratory forms and laboratory computer. Generate reports and review data for daily test results. Post/Fax/Email test results to customers with limited interaction with customers regarding test results. Participate in routine sample pick up from customers. Receive a satisfactory evaluation of job performance. Work with all personnel in the laboratory. Work primarily in a laboratory environment with the appropriate PPE and follow established laboratory safety practices. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; concentration in Biological or Chemical Science is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or related field is preferred. A general working knowledge of 21CFR, USP/NF, ICH, cGMP, cGLP and/or ISO standards and guidelines. The ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing, with scientific and non-scientific personnel is required. The ability to communicate effectively and solve complex problems.
