Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Assistant (Part Time). The Middle School Assistant plays a vital role in Poly Prep's Middle School division by facilitating positive student behavior and engagement while supervising and supporting groups of students during their learning and daily activities.
DATES/HOURS OF POSITION
September 3, 2024 through June 12, 2025
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday when class is in session
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Supervise assigned group(s) of students throughout the day including during lunch, study hall, recess, and silent reading periodsSupport students with technology needsAttend to students' social and emotional needs as they ariseCommunicate professionally with all members of the communityOversee the clean-up of lunch room spaceMonitor recess for behavior and safetyMonitor student restroom requests to avoid crowding in school facilitiesObserve students for health concerns and referring students in need to the health teamCollaborate with other Middle School Assistants as needed QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma and at least 2 years of college enrollment preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated interest and experience in working with children.
Specific Skills: Facility with digital technology (Gmail, Google Drive, Zoom) and a capacity for learning more; flexibility and willingness to adapt.
Hourly Wage: $20.00 per hour
