Job Description:
Performs all procedures proficiently and strives to maintain high quality.
Assists Radiologists and/or Physician with invasive procedures using aseptic/sterile technique.
Properly prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
Prepares scan room for procedures using approved cleaning protocol.
Appropriately discards sharps and maintains adequate level of supplies and linen.
Assures that proper radiation safety measures are being utilized.
Knows and implements emergency procedures as needed.
Performs department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job.
Enters and records data accurately and promptly.
Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures and ensures standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift
Provides clinical instruction to student and staff technologists.
Participates independently in call rotation.
Experience Required for Your Success
Education Requirement
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience
1 year of experience working as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist, or;
Successful completion of an IR clinical rotation during a formal education program
Licensure/Certifications
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (RT.R.ARRT) certification in Radiography required.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (RT.VI.ARRT) or (RT.CV.ARRT)
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire
