Description Are you interested in working with an organization that is transforming the way America cares for and educates its children?

The Childrens Guild is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to provide speech and language services to children who demonstrate a functional inability to perform in an educational environment under the direction of the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for all services. The SLPA will provide push-in and pull-out services based on the needs of the student and the services prescribed in the individualized education plan. The SLPA will develop, implement, and track progress on each students IEP on their caseload. The SLPA may also have to assist in completing speech assessments or work with another SLP to conduct assessments.

Summary

To provide diagnostic and therapeutic services relative to communicative skills to children enrolled in the Guild school program as determined appropriate by the Speech-Language Pathologist and the IEP Team; to collaborate with teaching teams, primary caregivers, and other professionals to meet the child's communicative needs; and to foster understanding about communication in general.

To fulfill the IEP requirements of the assigned students in the terms set forth by the IEP and in compliance with all applicable COMAR regulations.

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual will retain accountability for the following Key Result Areas (KRAs).

Key Result Area #1: Documentation Timely development, collaboration, and writing of IEPs Timely completion of quarterly progress reports for each student within their IEP Completing accurate and timely service notes and service trackers Key Result Area # 2: Service

Providing services as mandated in each students IEP Consulting with classroom staff regarding student services and interventions to assist with student success. Key Result Area # 3: Communication Collaboration with the IEP Team Communicating with parents/guardians about student progress and interventions to assist with student success and completing documentation of communication services in the electronic record and/or electronic school databases. Providing discipline-specific expertise through collaboration with other team members including classroom staff. Maintain open lines of communication with supervisor and keep supervisor updated. Key Result Area # 4: Professional Growth Participate in school-based professional development and orientation training. Complete annual training required by the organization and regulatory bodies. Attend external training, webinars, and/or courses to maintain licensure. Participate in supervision sessions and school meetings. Qualifications Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Possession of a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Science Disorders form an accredited institution. A minimum of one (l) year of full-time post-master's speech-language experience working with children is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Possession of a license/certificate as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Examiners in AUD/HAD/SLP. Certified in or eligible for certification in crisis management. Certified in or eligible for certification in CPR/First Aid. EEOC Statement
