Nutritionist Specialist's General Description of Duties & responsabilities:
The Nutritionist assists in the nutritional planning of the quality of patient management, maximize satisfaction and promote a good health. Is accountable for diet and healthy lifestyle for the patient. Nutritionist duties include assessing nutrition, planning diets and alimentations, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating actions required to meet the patients' health and human services needed.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Considers the potential alternatives including advocate and evidence exception of benefits needs when is medically necessary.
2. Promotes healthy eating habits to prevent and treat illness through supervision of food preparation and service, dietary modifications, and public education.
3. Provide sound advice to patients on healthy eating habits and evaluate dietary treatments of diseases.
4. Provide reliable and unbiased information for the entire medical team, including Medical Director, Care managers, and all other ICT members.
5. Ability to develop dietary plans to meet the nutritional requirements of individual patients according to their medical charts.
6. Depending on the patient's condition, they may have to provides specialized services, such as total parenteral nutrition (intravenous feeding) or enteral nutrition (tube feeding).
7. Ability to promote nutritional food and diet awareness through public educational programs in primary schools, colleges, communities, and corporate settings.
8. Provide explanations for food and nutrition issues.
9. Establish proper meal plans for the patient in accordance with their preference, health, and financial capabilities.
10.Valuate the health and diet needs of patients.
11.Calculate patient nutritional requirements.
12.Analyze nutritional content of food.
13.Educate other healthcare professionals about food and nutrition.
14.Run health promotion clinics in hospitals, pharmacies, and other community settings a Educate the public about the need for proper dieting, its importance in disease prevention, etc.
15.Conduct dietary, nutritional, and epidemiological research.
16.Oversight of interns in several Medical settings such as PCMH, and Call Center.
17.Certified, Preferably Master's Degree, great communication skills and ability to speak in public, and Call Center experience preferred.
