Position Summary-Nurse Practitioner-Women's HealthThe Nurse Practitioner is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team which functions to meet the objectives of the programs. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of one or more supervising licensed physician(s), including the Medical Director, and by written protocols. The Nurse Practitioner works in conjunction with the Medical Director in implementing and maintaining quality care programs.Schedule:Flexible, may require some evening and weekendsResponsibilitiesElicits patient medical and social history, performs a review of systems, initiates lab and Radiological test and studies, provides health teaching and counseling, monitors and manages stabilized chronic conditions; additionally, may perform simple laboratory test such as wet mounts.Reviews chart findings and exercises of services in accordance with established Management, CPSP, State Office of Family Planning, and other medical standards and guidelines.With appropriate training, prescribes and dispenses packaged, pre-labeled medications under protocol and refers and follows up on patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.Consults with other members of the health care team regarding individual needs of specific patients, provides support for recommended actions and refers patients to appropriate clinic and/or community resources.Supervises the LVN, Medical Assistant, Community Health Worker and other staff or personnel providing direct patient care and assumes responsibility for daily clinic management.Participates in case management meetings and staff meetingsIn concert with other members of the health care team provides patient and community education classes.Assists in the provision of in-service training of all clinical, volunteer and other personnel.Assists in data collection for evaluation and research purposes.Completes necessary billing forms.Participation in our Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) program and Women's Health Meetings.Contributes to program planning, evaluation, report preparation and development of articles.Performs other tasks as required or as assigned by the Program Director and Medical Director.Maintain a positive working relationship with staff.Other duties as designated by the Medical Director or Executive Director.Mandatory Core ProceduresIntrauterine Device (IUD) placement MirenaIntrauterine Device (IUD) placement ParagardRemoval of Intrauterine Device (IUD) (with strings showing)Pre-natal Ultrasound for gestational ageQualifications-Minimum RequirementsMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Excellent Communication SkillsExcellent Customer Service (Bedside Manners)Bilingual English/Spanish preferredAbility to work as a team player and work independently Reliable transportationMust be able to travel from facility to facilityThis position requires 10 % travel outside the local area.Education/Experience and/or Licensure/CertificationsMaster of Science (M.S.) or completion of CA Board of Registered Nursing, Nurse Practitioner ProgramMust have a Nat'l Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date.Active CA RN License and Current Certification Nurse PractitionerActive DEA LicenseHave approved credentials with Health PlansCommitment to goals and philosophy of our ClinicCurrent CPR and/or BLS CertificationValid State Identification
