*Must have a Bachelor or Master degree in Science Nursing and an Oncology Certification, or experience in Oncology*
· Fully bilingual (Spanish/English)
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft office word, power point, etc.
· Excellent computer skills and management of online research software including RAVE/Medidata, among others (highly desirable).
The Oncology Nurse provides direct nursing care for specified patients, including appropriate supportive care and administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and other oncology treatments as prescribed. Performs nursing assessments and triage of clinical trails and standard of care patients.
· Collaborate with investigators and statistical consultants, epidemiologists, research associates, regulatory staff and other relevant personnel in the execution of clinical research.
· Submit reports, documentation and ensure all research protocol guidelines are followed.
· Coordinate with pharmaceutical staff and sponsors the receiving and administration of study medications/vaccines/agents as appropriate in accordance to the clinical trial protocol.
· Maintain communication with sponsors, study monitors, co-investigators and regulatory offices as applicable.
· Participation on research meetings and assist in coordination of specific meetings as required by the sponsor, the organization, the research compliance office and the leadership team.
· Assist Dr. Cruz-Correa and the co-investigators/scientists in monitoring the health of the participant and the participant's responses during a new drug or therapy trial.
· Screen and recruit subjects for clinical studies in accordance with research protocols and following study and institutional procedures.
· Assist with medical evaluations and procedures as needed and under the guidance of the physician scientist and clinical collaborators.
· Review clinical records, charts, other source documents and records for clinical intervention, medication, and overall medical condition.
· Collect and enter clinical data into the research protocols databases and assesses data collected assuring quality control. .
· Perform/review required protocol assessments
· Perform physical assessments within the scope of nursing practice
· Ascertain real-time drug accountability
· Monitor patient responses intra- and post-study drug administration (as required per protocol)
· Conduct study-related patient education
· Perform phone triage for acute clinical issues and conduct phone assessments as required per protocol

· Performs nursing assessments and triage of patient care needs for new and ongoing patients.
· Provides education to patients, families, and significant others; acts as an information resource to health care professionals, patients, and the public.
· Provides family support as required, including applicable referrals and bereavement counseling.
