About the job:In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Operating Room Assistant, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care tasks, in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.What you'll do:Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see. For example: demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service.Monitor room temperature between 20 degrees and 24 degrees C (68 degrees and 75.2 degrees F) and reports variancesMonitor relative humidity between 20% and 60% and reports variances.Monitor and maintain laminar airflowUses designated isolation precautions as appropriate.Immobilize or support any body part as appropriateMonitor positioning and traction devices as appropriateApply safety strap and arm restraint as neededAll other duties as assignedWhat we're looking for:Education: High school graduate or equivalency required.Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferredEffective Communication SkillsDemonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
