Summary
The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the organization's parts and warehouse facilities, striving to optimize processes and procedures to meet customer expectations. This includes a wide range of tasks in the warehouse and parts departments, encompassing the following duties and responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and lower expenses.
Oversee operational performance and introduce enhancements to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
Supervise and guide a team of managers, supervisors, and other support positions, offering direction, training, and performance assessments.
Assist in management reporting, information distribution, and organizational planning.
Establish and uphold a system for monitoring and reporting departmental and individual metrics and performance.
Create and oversee a structured quality control process.
Manage the coordination of tradeshow equipment logistics.
Assist with any operational requirements of the west coast office, as necessary.
Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of support services.
Coordinate communication between support and business departments.
Manage discrepancies and returns with Handtmann vendors and customers.
Ensure that the operational activities are performed at the Gold Standard levels of Handtmann.
Be an active contributor to the continued growth of the parts & warehouse departments, including physical department layout and organization.
Be an active contributor to the continued growth of the parts department through assisting with changes and contributing ideas for improvement.
Support all sales and service areas of Handtmann.
Consistently maintain thorough and accurate paperwork and other departmental records
Develop and manage Safety programs for warehouse and all employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the Parts & Warehouse team.
Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
Management of staff across various areas of focus – warehouse, parts, quality, inventory, etc.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
5+ years of experience in similar warehouse environment.
Abilities
Ability to safely operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment
Able to learn quickly and at times work independently
A very high sense of customer service
Availability to work the required number of hours to complete the job, including occasional overtime and weekend work.
Ability to handle continuous interruptions and multiple tasks throughout the day, while managing workload and deadlines
