They are embarking on an exciting journey to develop a cutting-edge greenfield Operational Technology (OT) program and are seeking a visionary OT Solutions Architect to lead this transformative initiative.
As an OT Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a new OT infrastructure from the ground up. This greenfield project offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our client's operational technology environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT and business stakeholders, to ensure the development of a robust, scalable and secure OT framework. This position can be located in Oak Brook, IL or Toronto, ON.
OT Solutions Architect Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of the OT architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practicesDevelop and document detailed architectural plans, including system components, interfaces and integration pointsManage the end-to-end implementation of the greenfield OT program, including planning, execution and testingOversee the selection and integration of OT technologies, ensuring they meet performance, security and reliability requirementsEngage with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements and ensure the OT solutions meet their needsFacilitate workshops and presentations to communicate design concepts, progress and changesEnsure that the OT solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policiesImplement best practices for cybersecurity, data privacy and operational resilienceStay abreast of emerging OT technologies and trends, incorporating relevant advancements into the architectureIdentify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement within the OT environmentIdentify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address themConduct regular reviews and audits to ensure the OT infrastructure remains secure and effective OT Solutions Architect Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field5+ years of experience as an OT Solutions Architect or in a similar role with a focus on greenfield projectsStrong knowledge of OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLCs and IoT devicesExperience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, ProfiBus)Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and frameworks relevant to OT environmentsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analyticallyStrong communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholdersProject management experience is a plus
