The Paint Prepper will join our team and support our skilled painters in the creation of customized trailers. As a key member of the production team, this position will assist in various painting tasks, surface preparation, equipment maintenance, and overall workshop organization. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines, Company safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Work performed will be on customized trailers built from ground up. Shift hours are 6am - 4pm, Monday - Friday, with weekends as job demands.
Duties & Responsibilities
id in the preparation of trailer surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming ssist in the setup and maintenance of painting equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness Mix paints and coatings under the guidance of senior painters to achieve accurate color matching and desired finishes Transport and arrange trailers for painting, ensuring they are positioned appropriately for efficient and accurate work Hand tools, materials, and equipment to painters as needed during the painting process Clean and maintain painting tools, brushes, spray guns, and other equipment after use Help with the application of paint, clear coats, and protective finishes following established procedures ssist in quality control inspections by identifying and marking imperfections or defects for correction Maintain a clean and organized painting area, including proper disposal of waste materials Keep accurate records of paint usage, color formulas, and work performed Observe all safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and properly use equipment Maintain open communication with team members and leadership Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required Performs other job-related duties as assigned Requirements High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Previous experience in a workshop or industrial setting Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Basic reading and writing skills Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities Basic understanding of painting techniques, tools, and equipment Strong attention to detail Willingness to learn from experienced professionals bility to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environment bility to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines bility to communicate effectively with team members and leadership bility to understand and follow oral and written instructions bility to follow all company safety policies and procedures Willingness to work flexible hours based on production demands
