At Sweet Rose Creamery we make small batches of hand-crafted ice cream daily in our kitchen in Santa Monica. We use only the best ingredients we can get our hands on including organic milk and cream from Clover Farms, organic eggs from Chino Family Farms, fresh fruit and nuts from our favorite farmers at the Santa Monica Farmers' Market and more. Our kitchen is 100% GMO free and we make our own toppings, sauces and cones daily as well.
This position includes spinning ice cream and sorbet, assisting in making frozen novelties, cakes, pastry prep, and ensuring proper use of all equipment, keeping track of inventory, FIFOing all product, communicating with the team and chef, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
Experience with ice cream is a bonus but not required. If you are a hard worker who has previous experience working in kitchens we'd love to speak with you. Must be a team player and have a desire to learn and improve skills.
Qualifications:
* Reliable transportation
* Punctual and have excellent time management
* Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
* In possession of or able to obtain Serv Safe Certification (California state law for food service workers; test available at servsafe.com)
* Able to lift and carry up to 30 to 50 pounds
* English proficiency. Ability to speak Spanish is not a requirement but is a plus
* Inventory Management
* Ability to maintain clean and tidy workspace
* Previous experience in kitchens, but ice cream spinning experience not necessary.
