Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, an Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card from the Department of Public Safety.
The Payroll Specialist performs payroll-related functions, including payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, automated timekeeping systems and payroll reporting in a multi-site, multi-state, high-volume environment. The Payroll Specialist provides excellent customer service to managers and associates and is well versed in payroll compliance, taxes and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform payroll-related functions including but not limited to payroll processing, reporting, audits and maintenanceAssist the payroll team with the processing of any irregular payments and/ or off-cycle payments such as incentive and bonus paymentsEscalate non-routine inquiries and issues to the Payroll ManagerEnsure compliance with the agreed processes and identify areas of process or system improvementAbility to plan and prioritize tasks and deadlines and successfully deliver against the payroll cycle calendarMaintain discretion and professionalism with team members and clientsMonth End, Quarter End, and Year End assistance and task execution Qualifications:
Quickly and easily adapt to change and shifting priorities with enthusiasmUnderstand priorities and what is most important to both internal and external customersEagerly meet business opportunities and challenges head-onExperience with large corporate payroll processing that includes exposure to benefits and 401(k)Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax lawsDetail oriented, exhibiting strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsProficient using the Microsoft Office Suite of software to include Word and ExcelAbility to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levelsCoordinate multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperienced in reviewing and implementing payroll process controlAssociate's degree or equivalent, three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with ADP Workforce Now a plus Interested candidates are encouraged to complete an online application and submit the following supporting documentation:
