Permanent Substitute Custodian(s) - 2 open positions Berkley School District 14501 Talbot Oak Park , MI 48237 Non-Certified - Position - Custodian Job Type Description **Permanent Substitute Custodian (2 open positions)**
**Shift**: 3:00-11:30 PM (may fluctuate), 40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year
**Compentation**: $13.50/hour
Single Coverage Medical Benefits, Retirement Benefits
$500 New hire bonus after successfully completely 60 work days
**Qualifications**:
* High school diploma or GED required
* Good moral character
* Ability to create and maintain good public relations
* Ability to understand and communicate in English
* Ability to learn equipment, materials and methods used in custodial work
* Ability to work without constant, direct supervision
* Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting and moving a minimum of 50 lbs
* Excellent attendance record
* Successful completion of drug/fitness screening and criminal background check
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Clean assigned areas as follows:
+ Sweep and vacuum rooms and halls
+ Dust rooms and lockers
+ Mop bathroom floor, clean toilets and urinals and replenish paper supplies
+ Clean whiteboards as necessary
+ Clean doors and windows
+ Clean entryways
+ Report any needed repairs to custodial supervisor
+ Maintain a high standard of cleaniness and sanitation in his/her section
* Perform set ups and take downs for events and activities
* Clean up after night activities
* Assist with snow removal
* Perform other duties as assigned
