ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL
Responsibilities:
This position is PRN (per diem) for evening shift. The schedule is flexible and will include weekdays and weekends. This will be discussed in detail if selected for an interview. Under the supervision of a pharmacist the pharmacy technician performs pharmacy-related functions in compliance with state/federal regulations and department policies and procedures that provide optimal pharmaceutical care.
Receive prescriptions and verify their accuracy and authenticity. Check pricing, insurance payment policies, etc., as needed. Prepare prescriptions - fill Rx bottles, mix IV infusions, etc. Review inventory and order/restock as needed under direction from the Pharmacist. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. Maintain meticulous records and patient confidentiality. Support the Pharmacist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the pharmacy. Qualifications:
Minimum:
High School Diploma/GED Good communication skills Ability to work as a team member Knowledge of drug names and basic math AZ Pharmacy Technician license or AZ Pharmacy Intern license Preferred: A minimum of one year hospital pharmacy experience Ability to use MS Outlook Word and Excel
