Position Highlights: Position: Physician Assistant - General Surgery Location: Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time, 40 hours per week Hours: (3) 12-hour shifts on nights between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Rotating weekends and holidays required. Required Travel: n/a What you will need: License:Current Physician Assistant License in the State of Illinois required. DEA & Illinois Controlled Substance License required. Education:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Certification:CPR certification required Experience: One year of Physician Assistant experience preferred, but new graduates welcomed to apply. Skills:Surgical experience preferred What you will you do: Provide comprehensive health care services for a diverse patient population in close collaboration with a team of surgeons and APPs. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat general surgery patients. Provide surgical care for patients in various settings - emergency room, operating room, post-op, and non-op inpatient. First assist in emergent operations. Perform therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, bedside wound debridements, I&Ds, difficult catheter placements, catheter irrigation, NGT placements, etc. Work collaboratively with various health care providers throughout the system.
