Job Description

Responsible for patient care with supervising physician, and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics, and performance of corrective, preventive and therapeutic measures in the inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System, and the department of hire.

Responsibilities Roles & Responsibilities: Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration. Assesses patients' needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician Provides health teaching, guidance and counseling Makes appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physician Performs complete physical exams utilizing customary techniques Orders diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physician Orders medication in collaboration with physician Qualifications Requirements: Bachelors Degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program Three to five years equivalent combination of education and experience required New York State license and current registration as a Physician Assistant. NCCPA Certification through completion of national boards BLS/ACLS certification All credentialing documents not limited to but including NYS PA license and registration, Diploma, current PA certification, ACLS, BLS, DEA, etc Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSBI.MSB-PA
