In return, Mount Carmel provides excellent learning and growth opportunities, excellent benefits and opportunities to succeed.The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining variety of plumbing distribution systems within the hospital and associated mechanical equipment to assure a safe environment and efficient operation.ResponsibilitiesResponsible to maintain plumbing systems within federal, state, and local guidelines, and within the standards established by JCAHO and NFPA, and inform supervisors of non-compliance.Responsible for general, mechanical and operational knowledge of office machines, hospital equipment, kitchen equipment and other equipment as job necessitates. Installs, repairs, maintains, and performs preventive maintenance on water, sewer, natural gas and medical gas systems, sterilizers, washers, and other related plumbing equipment.Responsible for maintaining and performing preventive maintenance of the dirty linen chutes, fire sprinkler system, and lawn sprinkling systems.Assist in evaluating and maintaining an inventory of spare parts, tools, equipment and other necessary hardware.Requirements/QualificationsHigh School graduate or GED. Vocational training or apprenticeship training program preferred.License is preferredFour (4) years experience in installation and repair of plumbing systems. Experienced is blueprint reading and knowledgeable of commercial plumbing codes. Experienced in the use of plumbing equipment and the ability to use this equipment while effectively troubleshooting malfunctions.
