We are seeking a skilled and motivated postdoctoral candidate with strong research and communication skills to help advance a highly collaborative drug discovery and development team in the Lilly Genetic Medicine and ADME group in Cambridge, MA. Your work will contribute to a greater understanding of the clearance mechanisms and durability of RNA-based therapeutics. The successful candidate will implement their deep understanding of molecular biology to evaluate oligonucleotide pharmacokinetics at both in vitro and in vivo levels. Their ability to make data-driven decisions, learn new technologies and implement platforms will allow them to play a critical role in supporting early discovery efforts.
Job Responsibilities: Develop high-sensitivity PCR-based approaches of measuring oligonucleotides in different matrices.Establish cell culture models to study oligonucleotide pharmacokinetics & dynamics in vitro, using molecular biology and confocal imaging tools.Conduct sample preparation and analysis on rodent tissue and cell culture samples to inform oligonucleotide tissue residence and clearance patterns.Engage with RNA synthetic chemists, ADME scientists, bioanalytical chemists, protein biochemists, and in vivo pharmacologists to lead this research effort.Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization.Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.Basic Qualifications: PhD in molecular biology, pharmacology, physiology, or a closely related field.Additional Skills/Preferences:Knowledge and experience in qPCR and dPCR techniques.Knowledge and experience in cell and tissue culture.Self-directed and highly motivated individual with desire to learn new techniques, while pursuing research and publication goals.Expertise in RNA or protein biochemistry, drug metabolism and biotransformation.Expertise in molecular biology techniques for development of assays.Knowledge and experience in rodent tissue handling and processing.Experience with tissue and cellular fractionation.Knowledge and experience in confocal or live cell imaging.Understanding of pharmacokinetics or mechanistic modeling.Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
