We are seeking outstanding candidates for a postdoctoral position focusing on advanced genome engineering screening in the lab of Richard Sherwood (sherwoodlab.bwh.harvard.edu) at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The applicant would lead functional genomic screening efforts applying CRISPR base editing and CRISPRa/i screening to characterize variants associated with cholesterol traits, performing high-throughput chromatin accessibility screening, and interfacing with the recently formed NHGRI flagship IGVF consortium. A strong background in genetics and genomics is preferred.
Our lab is a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment that combines CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing and genomic screening approaches with cutting-edge machine learning and computational genetics approaches to understand how genomic variants contribute to complex human disease and to develop genetic treatments. We have developed a number of innovative, unpublished screening platforms to understand lipid and cholesterol metabolism, which we are applying to better understand and diminish cardiovascular risk.
