Postdoctoral Position in Dr. Andrew Lane's LaboratoryA postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Lane (lanelab.dana-farber.org) in the Department of Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. The lab focuses on leukemia and lymphoma biology, cancer genetics, and resistance to therapy.
Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life-changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We are looking for candidates who share our excitement to develop new insights about cancer biology with the ultimate goal of developing new treatment approaches. Projects will be fit with candidates' experience and specific interests. Areas of the lab's interest include leukemia and lymphoma biology (pathogenesis, hematopoiesis, and stem cells), dendritic cells (development, function, and transformation), mechanisms of resistance to cancer therapy, and cancer genetics including sex differences in malignancy. Opportunities also exist for collaborative projects with the Cancer Program at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate should be highly motivated, have excellent teamwork and communication skills. A PhD, MD, MD-PhD, or doctoral equivalent is required. Candidates with bioinformatic and programming skills for analysis of sequencing-based (DNA, RNA, epigenetic) datasets will be considered. Bench skills including tissue culture, flow cytometry, and standard molecular and cell biology techniques are preferred, as well as mouse experiment experience, but are not required.
