Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute brings together world renowned clinicians, innovative researchers and dedicated professionals, allies in the common mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. Combining extremely talented people with the best technologies in a genuinely positive environment, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all ages; we conduct research that advances treatment; we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers; we reach out to underserved members of our community; and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.
The Barbie Laboratory in the department of Breast Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School focuses on identifying new therapeutic targets for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). TNBC is a highly aggressive disease that results in a disproportionate number of metastatic cases and breast cancer deaths. Our laboratory has recently identified a promising pathway that involves STING (Stimulator of interferon genes), which is a critical regulator of the innate immune response to cytoplasmic double stranded DNA (dsDNA) in cancer. Through our research, we seek to gain a more comprehensive understanding of TNBC tumorigenesis and to optimize STING agonist therapy for TNBC.

Dr. Thanh Barbie is seeking a highly motivated and qualified postdoctoral candidate interested in pursuing several projects aimed at understanding mechanisms of triple negative breast cancer with a focus on its translational applicability to the clinical setting. The projects will have a dual focus on performing in vitro mechanistic studies in triple negative breast cancer cell lines and in vivo studies using mouse models of triple negative breast cancer.
The position will require a core foundation of molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture, and some basic training in mouse modeling and epigenetics. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and develop multiple independent projects.

The candidate must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD with several years of relevant experience in molecular biology with some research experience in cancer biology.
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is an equal opportunity employer and affirms the right of every qualified applicant to receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, disability, age, ancestry, military service, protected veteran status, or other characteristics protected by law.
