Position Summary:
The Prep Cook plays a critical role in the kitchen by preparing ingredients and ensuring that all necessary components are ready for the chefs. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and following food safety regulations to ensure high-quality dishes are prepared and served. The Prep Cook must be able to work well under pressure and have a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
This role will pay an hourly rate between $17.25

Responsibilities:
Prepare and measure ingredients as per recipes or chef instructions. Wash, peel, and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. Portion and package food for storage or future use. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including utensils, equipment, and storage areas. Assist chefs with cooking and plating as needed. Monitor food inventory levels and report any shortages to the kitchen manager. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies. Ensure proper food storage and labeling practices to avoid spoilage. Support the kitchen team in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role is preferred. Basic understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team. Excellent time management skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures. Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
