Job description Production Technician Job Summary:
The Production Technician will execute clerical functions for production control and will facilitate the flow of information and materials among and between departments according to an established production schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Reviews standard and special production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to identify, support, and prioritize requirements for materials and staff.
•Revises production schedules to address issues such as labor or material shortages, backlogs, or design changes.
•Distributes production schedules and work orders to departments.
•Reviews project documents, materials, and products to assess accuracy, completion, and compliance with standards and specifications.
•Drafts and maintains records related to production data and performance including volume produced and quality control analytics.
•Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly inventories of materials and supplies; requisitions additional supplies to fulfill work orders.
•Coordinates production and shipping activities; resolves issues and delays through collaboration with staff, vendors, and customers.
•Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
•Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
•Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
•Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
•Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
•Build, assemble and/or manufacture components and finished devices per standard operating procedures and work instructions.
•Fill out associated department paperwork and forms.
•Keep workstations clean and contaminant free.
•Assist in warehouse, shipping / receiving tasks and responsibilities.
•Follow all company policies and procedures.
•Assist in other department tasks and assignments as director by the supervisor.
•Keep tools and measurement devices in good working condition.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Bi-lingual Spanish and English (a plus)
•Basic understanding of manufacturing procedures.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Mid-level experience is OK, but must be ready for a career.
