JOB ANNOUNCEMENT The Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) provides education, leadership development, behavioral health, intervention, street outreach, and workforce development services to San Francisco youth and their families. CYC envisions empowering young people to reach their highest potential as individuals and to develop a positive self/cultural identity. Our mission is to empower and strengthen a diverse population of high-need youth and their families by providing comprehensive youth development through education, employment training, advocacy, and other supportive services.

Title: Program Coordinator - (CYC Leadership Program, Clementine Collective) Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour plus benefits Reports to: Senior Program Coordinator Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt Program Summary: Young Asian Women Against Violence (YAWAV) is committed to prevent violence against Asian and Pacific Islander girls, young women, and non-binary youth, particularly dating/domestic violence and sexual assault. Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, a team of young Asian women peer leaders (ages 15-18) will participate in intensive training, produce multilingual educational materials, outreach and educate schools and communities.

Clementine Collective is a leadership program and support group dedicated to the positive empowerment and development of Asian/Pacific Islander LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies in San Francisco. Clementine Collective participants learn about API and LGBTQIA+ identity, history, and culture, while creating community with other young people. Our goals are to strengthen the resilience, pride, knowledge, and skills of youth leaders so that we can educate others and build healthy communities.

Position Description: The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating curriculum for the peer leaders, coordinating workshops and events with community members, developing a mentorship program, and meeting other grant requirements. The Program Coordinator will be an advocate and community liaison to raise public awareness of gender-based violence and LGBTQ+ issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruit and supervise diverse team of young Asian and Pacific Islander queer and trans youth as peer leaders.Develop and lead a mentorship program for queer and trans youth and adult mentors. Recruit, coordinate, train, and prepare mentors and mentees.Develop queer and trans mentorship objectives, timeline, feedback process, and opportunities for mentees and mentors to connect.Coordinate youth training and develop curriculum as necessary.Work with peer leaders to develop and implement action plan.Oversee development of educational presentations and materials.Facilitate presentations at community organizations and classrooms on gender-based violence.Support the development of peer leaders' skills.Attend community initiatives, collaborative and advocacy meetings related to gender-based violence.Attend appropriate conferences and events along with peer leaders.Provide case management to queer and trans youth.Prepare program documentation and reports.Other duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in related fields.Experience working with queer/questioning/gender non-conforming youth.Ability to work in partnership with queer and trans youth to support their leadership.Commitment to youth and leadership development practices and to encourage youth to develop their leadership potential.Understanding the impacts of trauma, violence, and healing methods on individuals and communities.Excellent organizational and presentation skills.Preferred: Bilingual/biliterate in English and an Asian language, preferably Chinese or Vietnamese.Experience in advocacy or community education.Knowledge of San Francisco's Asian/Pacific Islander communities and resources for queer and trans youth and transition age youth.Ability to work some evenings and weekends.Build and maintain relationships with community-based service providers, school districts, and youth agencies.Commitment to taking regular Covid-19 health tests as required by program health and safety guidelines and/or current health directives.CYC is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and will not discriminate against any applicant or employee on the basis of race, age, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, citizenship, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other basis recognized by federal, state or local law.
