Job Description

The Center for Research Advancing Racial Equity, Justice, and Sociotechnical Innovation Centered in Engineering (RARE JUSTICE) at Arizona State University is a testbed for re-envisioning the post-pandemics future of engineering grounded in an ethos of justice where all can thrive. RARE JUSTICE aims to model equity in engineering in action through redefining what is valued; redefining what it means to have impact and for whom; reaching target audiences, stakeholders, and the community via innovative modalities; and expanding pathways, access, and quality for all, affording novel opportunities that create new tables, forget the seats. This effort will take a village of visionary, innovative, imaginative, and transformative thinkers, and thus, we are searching for a qualified individual to join our team in this incubator of transformation. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a newly awarded $5 million NSF-funded Racial Equity project, Positioning Engineering Faculty to Support Black Engineering Graduate Students through Awareness, Knowledge, Capacity Building, and Community (NSF# 2411987), from its inception.

Works closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director and Principal Investigator, co-investigators, research team, and relevant stakeholders to plan direct, organize, and execute project requirements.

This individual will identify and acquire necessary resources and coordinate efforts by all parties to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes in accordance with the sponsoring source's expectations.

Working Environment Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7 years related experience; 4 of which include project management of technical or scientific endeavors.

Desired QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of available project management applications and associated project specific technology requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of principles, methods and techniques of process / quality improvement. Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques needed for large, complex projects. Experience in ensureing team needs are met by obtaining necessary resources; demonstrates ability to apply knowledge of management principles and methods. Preferred qualifications: CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management): Equivalent of 1 year of project management. PMP (Project Management Professional) ASU Statement

Essential DutiesPlans, develops, implements, and manages a project team through complete task definitions and work requirement identification and assignments. Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes; identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s). Establishes and continually monitors/manages project expectations with team; assigns tasks and identifies issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness. Prepares and maintains all project status reports and schedules; tracks milestones/deliverables, critical paths and dependencies; re-sets expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.
