Job Description
The Project Engineer - Civil/Utilities - PG County Maryland will be responsible for:
The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing utility construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This role involves working closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Management: Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate and supervise utility construction activities. Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Design and Engineering: Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents. Collaborate with design teams to ensure constructability and feasibility. Provide technical support and guidance during construction. Quality Control and Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure quality standards are met. Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites. Address any deviations from design and specifications promptly. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation. Handle any client or stakeholder inquiries and concerns. Resource Management: Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment. Coordinate with procurement teams for timely delivery of materials. Ensure optimal use of resources to maintain project efficiency. Health and Safety: Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on-site. Conduct safety meetings and training sessions. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures and manage budget. Approve and process project invoices and change orders. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. The Successful Applicant
The Project Engineer - Civil/Utilities - PG County Maryland will have: at least 1 year of experience in construction - ideally with exposure to civil, utilities, water/waste water or similar (not required) a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or similar excellent communication skills, both verbal and written experience using project management tools/software strong problem-solving and analytical skills ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications What's on Offer
