Assesses, recommends and provides IEP mandated occupational therapy services; Assesses student needs for occupational therapy; Schedules students for occupational therapy; Assists and instructs students during therapeutic sessions according to student's IEP goals; Collaborates with the classroom teacher in the implementation of appropriate adaptations and accommodations to be used during the school day; Collaborates with residential staff, when appropriate, to determine appropriate accommodations for use in the after school program; Communicates with parents about the student's progress through progress reports and on a regular basis; Submits monthly billing for Medicaid School Program; Provides input and updates the IEP Team and/or transition team of student's occupational therapy progress and needs; Advises the school/parents about resources and/or equipment.MAJOR WORKER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of occupational therapy; safety practices relative to occupational therapy; social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, social work).
