Position: Quality Assurance/Compliance Specialist
Block Institute is seeking a meticulous and organized Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Total Quality Management (TQM) team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our programs comply with applicable federal and state laws, as well as agency policies and procedures. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Operations to conduct internal audits, identify risk areas, and recommend corrective actions. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Operations and the Director of the Program in developing an annual audit schedule for Block Institute programs and communicate it to appropriate staff. Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures. Organize and conduct Entrance Conferences with Program management to outline audit expectations and discuss potential risk areas identified in previous audits. Coordinate with Program management to arrange for the availability of selected records, supporting documentation, and necessary staff for the scheduled audit. Use a standardized tool to review charts and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards and agency policies. Develop a Statement of Deficiencies upon completion of the audit and conduct an Exit Conference with Program management to review overall findings. Forward the Statement of Deficiencies to the Director of Operations and the Director of the Program, along with a time frame for submission of a Plan of Corrective Action. Provide technical assistance to Program management as needed to address deficiencies and develop corrective actions. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that corrective actions are effective and operational. Maintain an organized system for program audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as Justice Center requirements. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or some college credits preferred. Experience within an OPWDD setting required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Benefits: Medical and dental insurance.
