GENERAL SUMMARY
This is an hourly position in City of Industry, CA that reports to the Shift QC Supervisor. Primarily responsible for performing various audits of production line startup & final inspections. Responsible for GMP audits; pre-op check & line clearance at startup & changeover. Responsible for reporting & documenting product non-conformance. Assists in the resolution of quality related issues. This position is a 3rd Shift from 9:30 pm - 6:00 am.
SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION Responsible for Line Clearance, verifying that lines are clear prior to startup. Performs equipment swabbing after sanitation.Performs quality audits for each production line throughout the shift. Documents the in-line process, check results for each production, & run per pre-approved specifications.Reports any OOS (Out of Specification) or non-conformance to the Production & QC Supervisor. Ensures that immediate corrective action is completed before startup for any non-conformance.Ensures that products that are non-compliant are properly labeled & stored in designated area, following MRB process.Performs periodic quality & GMP audits of the production area, focus' at the mix deck to ensure product handling compliance.Performs audits of ingredients that are staged for manufacturing, ensures that no expired materials are used. Performs temperature audits of ingredients, WIP, & finished product while in production stage. Prepares Shift report for next shift follow up.Performs case counts audits on all products.Performs daily Pre-operational Inspection. Assists in metal detector validations & regular in-process metal detector line checks.Ensures operators follow metal detector SOP.Reports any Food Safety Risk to Supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.2-3 years' minimum related experience in Quality Control in Food Processing/Manufacturing environment.Ability to work well with other departments.Good math abilities, good communications & computer skills, especially spreadsheets.Knowledge of safety regulations & procedures.Strong decision-making skills, & calm in stressful situations. Ability to lift 40lbs. DESIRED: Knowledge of manufacturing environment & practices.
