Summary:
The
RCM Specialist
is responsible for managing patient financial services, processing charge certifications and performing patient accounts receivable analysis.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit patient charge certifications for prescription medications.
Gather patient financial, demographic and insurance information.
Prepare and send receipts and quotes for prescription medications.
Handle and file correspondence.
Contact and follow up on patient collections.
Review accounts receivable on a monthly basis and perform collection efforts.
Handle patient requests referred by other departments.
Update and manage Payment Agreements.
Maintain effective communication with patients regarding payments.
Refer reimbursement requests to Accounting.
Record and reconcile deductible payments.
Comply with monthly closings and work plan.
Investigate and resolve payment related situations.
Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
Protect and maintain confidential information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
1 year of previous billing experience (Specialty Pharmacy preferred).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced level).
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of billing systems (CPR+ preferred).
