Housing Works fights for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention, and treatment, among other lifesaving services.

Compensation Range: $16/hr - $19/hr commensurate with experience.
Overview:
Recovery Support Specialist for SAMHSA Building Communities of Recovery Grant. This position will be responsible for the provision of recovery support, case management, evidence-based intervention, and referrals. Outreach-based.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all documentation necessary to create the participant's record: receive, review and file all required documents.
Provide evidence base practices according to the needs of the target population, among these: SBIRT, Motivational Interview, Relapse Prevention and Harm Reduction and document interventions.
Screen individuals (mostly in the community) for recruitment to the GBHI Project.
Complete intake and follow up GPRA.
Maintain an updated register of participants and provide the necessary follow-ups within the established timeframe.
Carry out the processes in compliance with the rules, procedures, and protocols of the organization.
Assess needs of program participants, create treatment plans, and review treatment plans.
Coordinate and assist in participant transportation to services.
Link program participants to care and support services via referrals and follow up.
Link participants to housing via referrals and follow up.
Referred and coordinate services with internal and external programs for participants in need.
Document and update the participant record according to the established timeframe.
Provide follow up services to program participants according to the established timeframe.
Represent project and agency in different forums.
Coordinate with other team members for participant services or support.
Provide one-on-one peer support and, in partnership with supportive services staff, assist participants in basic resource navigation
Facilitate peer support groups
Job Requirements
This position will have at least 2 years' experience working with the POF and will be reflective of the POF.
Must have extensive knowledge about risk behaviors, substance abuse practices, sterile procedures and other issues.
Must be extremely comfortable working with at-risk populations with complex needs.
Ability to perform standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques.
Knowledge of appropriate blood processing and handling procedures.
Ability to accurately complete and maintain administrative documents and records.
Ability to understand and follow specific clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures.
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Knowledge of relevant clinical and patient care regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
