Job Overview:
The Regional Director of Resort Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple resorts within a designated region of the caribbean, ensuring a high standard of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This role requires strong leadership to develop and mentor resort management teams, foster a culture of excellence, and ensure alignment with corporate standards and objectives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading multi-site resort operations, improving guest experiences, and driving revenue growth. The Regional Director will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the brand and ensuring that each resort within the region operates at peak performance. This position requires 90% travel to our resorts throughout the Caribbean.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to resort General Managers and their teams across the region.
Ensure smooth operations of all resorts, including housekeeping, front office, maintenance, guest services, and food & beverage.
Implement and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and customer service to enhance the guest experience.
Ensure the resorts are well-maintained and meet high standards of upkeep.
Financial Performance:
Manage and oversee the financial performance of all resorts in the region, ensuring that operational expenses, labor costs, and revenue targets are met or exceeded.
Develop and implement financial strategies that optimize profitability, including cost control measures and revenue enhancement initiatives.
Prepare and manage annual operating budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Guest Experience:
Oversee and ensure that each resort delivers a consistent and exceptional guest experience in alignment with brand standards.
Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work with resort management to resolve any service issues and continuously improve the guest experience.
Develop initiatives to enhance guest loyalty and ensure repeat business.
Team Development & Leadership:
Hire, train, mentor, and develop resort leadership teams, ensuring that all employees align with the company's values and operational goals.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to ensure that resort leaders are performing effectively.
Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and open communication.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure that all resorts comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
Oversee risk management processes, including regular audits of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and property security.
Maintain full compliance with company policies and procedures.
Collaboration & Communication:
Act as the primary liaison between resort leadership and corporate headquarters, ensuring that communication flows efficiently across all levels.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and corporate operations teams to support regional growth, branding initiatives, and promotional activities.
Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans for the region and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in resort or hotel operations, with at least 3-5 years overseeing multiple properties.
Proven track record of driving guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth in a multi-site hospitality environment.
Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance, and risk management within the hospitality industry.
Proficient in hospitality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a branded resort or vacation ownership environment.
Strong understanding of resort operations, including housekeeping, food & beverage, front office, and maintenance.
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time across the region.
