Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years required; must have 1 prior travel assignment License: Valid state license required at time of submission Certifications: BCLS and NRP required; STABLE preferred Must-Have: - Willingness to serve as a preceptor and charge RN - Ability to float to Special Care Nursery - Completion of mandatory flu vaccine with no exemptions Job Description: - Administer IV antibiotics and conduct metabolic screenings - Perform newborn assessments and phototherapy - Provide teaching on circumcision care to parents - Manage thermoregulation and newborn hypoglycemia - Handle cases involving large gestational age, low birth weight infants - Conduct pain assessment and management with medications like opioids - Follow baby-friendly protocols - Conduct bladder assessments and Foley catheter insertion - Provide breastfeeding instructions and couplet care - Offer care for episiotomy/incision and fundus/lochia/perineum - Assist in vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections - Manage multiple births and postpartum hemorrhage - Monitor pregnancy-induced hypertension and implement isolation precautions - Perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration - Experience preferred in Antepartum, High Risk Antepartum, and Special Care Nursery/Level II Additional Information: - Scrubs are provided - Weekend shifts are required every third weekend - Modules are completed pre-start and during orientation, averaging 12 non-billable hours
