Registered Ultrasound Technologist - OB/GYN - Full Time - Day Flex
In this role the registered Ultrasound Technologist balances patient interaction and technological performance with a firm knowledge of anatomy and pathology by working cohesively with the physician and healthcare team. Verifying and maintaining patient records with the ability to document medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure. Performing the ultrasound examination and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly. Evaluating the images for their quality and interpreting the captured images. Presenting images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team for appropriate patient care management.
Performing and documenting maintenance and sterilization processes of ultrasound probes, and medical instruments. Maintaining ultrasound equipment and examination rooms in accordance with NYP policies and practice.
This is a full-time position located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
This is a full-time position working 2 days 9:00AM - 5:00PM at our Mapleton practice (5923 16th Ave) and 3 days 12:00PM - 8:00PM at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital's Center for Community Health (515 6th Street).
Preferred
Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience Licensure/ Certifications Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) required BCLS required Required Criteria Graduate of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology required High School Diploma or GED Must have demonstrated experienced in patient care with training in Ultrasound required Minimum 2 years' experience in patient care with training in Ultrasound with knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy preferred If working in the Diagnostic Imaging Center, must have at least 3 years of direct ultrasound experience post training in General Sonography (ie Abdominal, Pelvic, Small Part) and Doppler interrogation (ie upper abdomen, female and male reproductive system) experience required Basic computer skills required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
