Restaurant Manager required for Santa Monica location. A renowned restaurant group specializing in Taiwanese steamed dumplings and noodles, upscale casual concept. 170+ restaurants in 13 countries and expanding by 2 restaurants annually Founded in the 1970's their flagship restaurant in Hong Kong as received a Michelin star 5 times Known for their high quality, high standards and systems that deliver world class cuisine and excellent service at scale. Due to growth in the company from new openings, they are seeking to bring in new talent to fill a few key positions. Menus are set at corporate and a large amount of the food production is at a centralized commissary kitchen Restaurant Manager oversees the day to day operations of the restaurant. Overseeing the front-of-house which consist of managing the brand, ensuring service meets the brand. Additionally, the manager is responsible for creating a workplace environment that fosters the company's core values of Smile, Synergy, Modesty, Integrity, Learning and Excellence. Team of 140-200 team members depending on store ( FOH and BOH ) Reports to Direct reports: GM and AGM, part of team of 4 or 5 Restaurant Managers depending on store size. Direct reports : Assistant Managers and Floor Managers Restaurant capacity 250-350 depending on location, high volume, multiple table turns, stores can generate $20-$25 million in revenue JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Arriving to work on time to set positive example for employees Attending Front of House Daily Meetings Managing the Front of House team Ensuring restaurant is staffed and set up for business ensuring not to exceed labor budget Checking all server sections Ensuring opening / closing, Daily Check Lists are completed Ensuring restaurant is clean outside and inside of any debris Able to communicate in a manner that achieves positive results Disciplining and encouraging employees when necessary Providing training in all facets of the Front of House Opening and closing the restaurant(s) Reading, understanding, following and enforcing the Employee Handbook, Training Guide, and Specific Departmental Standard Operating Procedures Manual including POS operations. Ensuring compliance with licensing and hygiene, health and safety legislation Familiar with all products provided on menus Assisting staff when necessary in a positive and encouraging manner JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL MANAGER:2 years of relevant management experience in high volume upscale casual or upscale restaurant environment. Experience with a restaurant group advantageous. Flexible Work Schedule Managers are required to work a minimum of 5 days per week and 10 hours per day Schedule may vary based on business demands.
