THIS POSITION CAN BE ENTIRELY VIRTUAL/REMOTE/WORK FROM HOME AND THE INDIVIDUAL CAN SIT ANYWHERE IN THE US.  

POSITION OVERVIEW:  Our IT team is growing and currently looking for a SENIOR PEGA ENGINEER who can serve as a technical lead for Pega projects within Trustmark.  We are in the early stages of a digital transformation with massive investments into cutting edge technologies, business process management, workflow management and are looking for a senior level Pega engineer that can play a key role in helping to turn the vision into a reality.  In this role, you'll work closely with senior leadership and provide technical expertise while partnering with various cross functional teams.  You will have the ability to influence many aspects of the direction we take, so we're looking for someone who is energized by the idea of playing a key role in a truly transformative initiative.  Ideally you have a strong background in Pega and Java technologies – we'll help you learn anything else. 


This role will be primarily focused on developing solutions to business problems using Pega 8.4 Platform in collaboration with onshore and offshore Pega resources. The ideal candidate will have experience with both design & development of Pega BPM and design & development of case management applications in the Pega Platform.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads the conceptualization, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of applications for all lines of business. Accountable for the overall delivery of technical solution. Design, codes, configures, unit tests, maintains, and documents software deliverable using agreed upon standards and tools. Provides hands-on technical leadership and direction for features delivered Ensures application solution design conforms to agreed upon quality attributes such as performance, fault tolerance, etc. Collaborates with domain architects on coding standards, processes, tooling and frameworks required for the delivery of features in the sprint or product backlog Provides ongoing and appropriate mentor-ship for onshore and offshore Pega Engineers Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders in the delivery of features Evaluates technical impacts from and coordinates implementation of new product releases. Participates in code reviews and sprint retrospectives to communicate ideas for improvements. Participates in Proof Of Concept work and prototyping when necessary Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that software meets the definition of done; ensure successful transition of work to the next stage of production during the sprints Contributes to an innovative culture in the team by suggesting improvement of deliveries and participates in evaluating new processes and technologies that can be applied to future feature delivery Supports transition of software features to a production environment ensuring that the deliveries meet application performance criteria, release standards; and ensures application and system stability.  QUALIFICATIONS: 

Strong intellectual curiosity Bachelors of Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience Certified Pega Senior System Architect is preferred 8+ years' experience in software development and an Agile Scrum environment 4+ years' design, architecture, developing & implementing solutions with Pega BPM and Case Management Implementation knowledge of APIs, REST protocols Insurance industry experience preferred Clearly demonstrates analytical ability and critical thinking skills Self-motivated and results oriented; able to motivate others Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience leading groups of people through discussions, technical or otherwise Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization Strong experience in continuous integration and DevOps Ability to thrive in a flexible work environment where many associates work from home All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, sexual identity, age, or disability.
