We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee safety on a steel erection project in Columbus, Ohio. Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Duration: 6 months
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $48 - $50 /hr
• Per Diem: No Per Diem
• Completion Bonus: $150/month
• Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
• Shifts: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (Monday - Friday)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
Project Scope:
The project involves steel erection for a major construction site. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all safety aspects of the job, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in construction safety, with a focus on steel erection
• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500 preferred
• In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, regulations, and best practices related to steel erection
• Proven experience conducting safety inspections, training, and safety compliance for steel erection projects
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure that all workers follow safety regulations
• Lead safety orientations for new employees and provide ongoing safety training
• Enforce site-specific safety protocols to reduce accidents and injuries
• Manage safety-related documentation, incident reports, and communications with contractors
• Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required, in line with qualifications
