About the Role:
Safety Specialists work closely with field staff, clients and subcontractors, all levels of management, and personnel from external organizations during all phases of electric construction projects. Safety Specialists must be committed to ensuring adherence to safety-related policies, procedures, and regulations while developing positive professional relationships.
This position requires travel throughout the state of Texas, encompassing worksites throughout the assigned project areas. Company vehicle and gas card are provided. Essential Functions Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions to ensure a safety focus throughout all phases of electric construction projectsCoordinate with Operations teams to create site-specific safety plans; actively participate in safety meetings to review job hazard analysis and hazard recognition toolsParticipate in project kick off and progress meetingsSupporting client-specific safety requirements programs and ensure alignment and compliance between client expectations, company rules, and applicable safety regulationsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safetyCoach and mentor project site personnel regarding safety practices and behaviors on an ongoing basisConduct proactive behavior-based and quality-focused field safety observations and PPE hazard assessmentsPartner with Safety, Safety Training & Operations teams to schedule or facilitate required employee trainings: New hire orientation, OSHA ETD Quarterly refresher training, Customer required training, Post-incident training as part of a Corrective Action Plan, and Participate in site-specific safety planning.Conduct accident/injury investigations including root cause analysesProvide support to Operations organization for incident case management and documentation stepsFollow-up with Operations organization to ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidentsSupport company safety committees by assisting in assessment of safety performance trends, implementing process, and tool improvementsRegular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assignedEssential functions of this position are to be performance at a Company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards.

About You:
Qualifications (Level I) Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles is requiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalent is requiredMinimum of one (1) safety certification is preferred, examples include: Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degreeQualifications (Level II) Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles - requiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalent - requiredMinimum of one (1) safety certification is preferred, examples include: Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)Undergraduate degree in in Occupational Safety & Health Management, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene or related technical field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degreeKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Problem-solving and situation analysis skillsProficiency with MS Office Suite programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPointEffective verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence behaviorStrong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry-related safety regulationsMust be a team player able to work with co-workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationshipsAttentiveness to detailsOrganizational skillsAbility to work independentlyBasic understanding of electric construction project management practices and proceduresAbility to travel for job site visits for extended periods of time

Compensation & Benefits Salary $73,000-$105,000 / yearCommensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
