Scheduling Assistant

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Proficient in basic math.
Good verbal and written communication.
Strong organizational skills.
Customer service oriented.
Fast paced and able to meet deadlines.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to efficiently learn and understand the following:
- processing of jobs
- flexographic and digital printing, laminating, curing, and coating
- various other manufacturing processes
- raw materials used on jobs
- various in-house computer systems and programs
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent; and
1 year of office experience; or
1 year of other applicable experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform all job specific functions to efficiently schedule or assist in the scheduling of work through the organization. This may include, but is not limited to performing or assisting in the following:
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in daily scheduling meetings to discuss daily shipping demands.
Reliably run daily computer processes to ensure accuracy for costing and accounting purposes.
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED:
Print/organize required materials to accompany job instructions.
Perform raw material and production planning checks to ensure that a job is ready for production
Review which work centers to which jobs are assigned and adjust schedule in computer system.
Communicate with multiple departments to ensure Whitlam is operating at the highest efficiency possible.
Coordinate with Sales department in the processing of urgent order requests.
Coordinate with Sales department in the processing of changes to orders and/or jobs.
Perform duties of the scheduler or other team members as required.
Comply with Whitlam policies, procedures and instructions.
Perform any other duties as required.
