Hispanic Federation (HF) is the nation's premier Latino nonprofit membership organization. Founded in 1990, HF supports Hispanic families and strengthens Latino institutions through organizational capacity building and grantmaking, policy advocacy, and direct services to Latino communities. HF is focused in the areas of education, health, immigration, civic participation, economic empowerment, environmental justice, housing, agriculture, renewable energy, and disaster relief and recovery, among others. Scope of Work
Hispanic Federation (HF) is seeking a skilled and creative graphic designer to assist in creating visually appealing and effective materials that will enhance our community outreach and communication efforts, especially as it relates to energy justice in Puerto Rico. The designer will work closely with HF and its partners in designing its brand for its energy project and creating materials with the branding across all program materials. The designer will be responsible for designing a range of culturally competent materials including flyers, community outreach materials, journals, toolkits and reports.
Principal Objectives:
Execute discovery and prepare branding for HF's multi-year programming around energy justice.
Create materials within the branding guidelines for the program which will include, but not be limited to, community outreach and education materials, partner toolkits, advertisements, and digital assets.
Primary deliverables
Create visually captivating materials for outreach and incorporate provided key information and design aspects.
Design a range of community engagement materials such as curriculum, posters, banners, and handouts and mass media advertisements for print, digital, and TV.
Design reports and guides community use, including cover design, internal layout, and data visualizations (charts, graphs, infographics).
Reports and materials should reflect our nonprofit's values and be both functional and aesthetically.
Timeline
Hispanic Federation seeks a consultant available to begin immediately in September 2024 with the capacity to prepare the first grant for submission by October 20, 2024. Ongoing services would likely continue through August 2025, with the possibility of renewal.
Skills and qualifications
A proven track record of producing branding and culturally sensitive materials for HF's community programs.
Expert in design and branding with experience working with grassroots nonprofit organizations.
Experience working with clients from diverse regions of the US, including its territories like Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Ability to assess the viability of proposals by reviewing and scoring drafts and preparing the most successful proposals possible.
Strong project management with clear timelines and methods for collaboration and client engagement.
