JOB SUMMARY The Sr.
Accountant will prepare financial reports to track various businesses assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements for all divisions and territories of the company assigned by the Comptroller.
JOB DUTIES Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Examples (monthly sales tax returns, professional services deposits and quarterly reconciliation and any other governmental requirements).
Analyzes accounts for proper recognitions of accruals, prepaid expenses, subsidiaries of accounts payable, accounts receivable and property ledger.
Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability reports.
(Gross profit by job, client, or division) Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
Maintain cost accounting if required by the subsidiary.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Strong excel skills Proficient in Microsoft office (Power point and word) knowledge.
Excellent Oral and verbal communications skills (English and Spanish) Excellent analytical skills, sound understanding of accounting principles.
Attention to detail and data entry skills .
MINIMAL ACADEMICS REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
Five years + of accounting experience required.
SKILLS Flexibility to accept new tasks and special assignments.
Strong Organizational skills Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Imperative to be able to interact on a professional manner always.
Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Attention to detail Confidentiality SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles Highly proficient with accounting software.
