Senior Accountant

About the Company Our client is a fast-paced, high-growth, private equity-backed business in Oak Brook, IL is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the accounting department. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial day-to-day general accounting documents, reports, and statements ensuring that all business transactions are reported in accordance with GAAP principles. Oversee accounting procedures and advise on general finance matters.
Responsibilities • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank, credit card and other billing statements.
• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and files.
• Assist with the month-end close (adjusting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.)
• Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliations.
• Research and analyze expense variances for company management.
• Assist with the annual audit process including preparing the draft of the financial statements and related notes.
• Assist with establishing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating the implementation of accounting control procedures/processes.
• Assist other departments and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills; Expert spreadsheet abilities
