Senior Accountant

LHH is assisting a reputable organization in the Insurance industry searching for their next Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accounting, reporting and analysis functions as it relates to the organization. The expectation is to coordinate and perform the quarterly and annual close processes as well as the various accounting and administrative reporting requirements necessary. The Senior Accountant is a key contributor in the quarterly close, consolidation process, and the preparation of the Company's internal and external financial statements, and on both a GAAP & STAT basis
Responsibilities Assist in preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, financial reports, and analysis.Participate in monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.Assist with the preparation of statutory & US GAAP financial statements including coordination of footnote disclosures with various departmentsMaintain KPI's and financial reporting information.Assist with external & internal auditor requests. Qualifications 3+ years' of professional accounting experience within the insurance industryBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experienceMasters and/or CPA preferredGAAP knowledge requiredStatutory Accounting Principles preferredContinuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends and seek opportunities to enhance skills/knowledge
