Company Overview Our client, a leading accounting and business advisory firm in Puerto Rico that provides a wide range of non-traditional services in relation to other international and local public accounting firms, is looking for an Senior Audit.
Job Summary The Audit Senior is responsible for all phases of ongoing projects and of the engagement management for multiple clients.
Responsibilities include planning, directing, and completing audits; developing and supervising assistants, reviewing financial statements and related technical accounting issues; and assisting in engagement management and practice development activities.
Responsibilities and Duties Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality. Maintain open, cordial and respectful communications with engagement team so as to foster confidence and cohesiveness amongst the team.
Manage client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing (wrap-up) financial audits and managing to budget. Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on audit process and assess performance of the assistants on engagements, perform pertinent in-charge roles as needed.
Work with audit team to identify and resolve client issues discovered during audit process. Ability to research technical issues/problems and effectively document the actions taken resulting from such research. Employ audit software to review and compile financial information.
Maintain a good working relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform audit services. Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements. Assist managers and partners on proposals and business development calls. Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements. Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis. Process engagement information using KGT audit tools: Voyager, T-Beam, IDEA, Excel and Word.
Become knowledgeable of Firm policies, procedures and the AICPA / PRCPA rules, regulations and code of ethics.
Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting.
150 semester hours of education, and a CPA license or eligibility to sit for the exam for its approval as soon as possible.
Two to four years of progressive public accounting experience with in-charge auditing experience desirable.
Ability to supervise the assistants and ability to lead/manage engagements/projects. Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships. Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast paced, interactive, results-based team environment. Strong leadership, mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational and engagement management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Spanish.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit preparation software.
Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites, locally and abroad. Powered by JazzHR
