Job Summary: The Arch Catastrophe Analytics team is looking to add a Senior Catastrophe Research Analyst to our dynamic and growing team. This role would work closely with senior leadership, underwriters and actuarial teams across Arch Insurance to develop solutions for natural and man-made catastrophes. Candidates should be self-starters, with strong data skills who are looking to be creative and ready to take on any task put in front of them.
Primary Responsibilities: Perform validation of hazard and vulnerability components of the major peril models and evaluate new models and datasets. Examine model version changes. Develop the Arch View of Risk framework for use across the organization. Evaluate 3rd party data and develop standards for use across business units. Qualifications: 5+ years of commercial catastrophe modeling experience. Expertise in 3rd party catastrophe model vendor platforms (RMS, Verisk). Expert level knowledge of any natural perils (Earthquake, wildfire, flood, atmospheric perils etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL. Experience with Python, R or geospatial tools (ESRI) a plus. Estimated Travel up to 10%.
