The successful candidate will be an experienced litigator with a minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience, including at least three years in-house. Preferably, the candidate will have a background in the chemical, distribution, or life sciences industries and experience in compliance, including the development and implementation of compliance programs. The role involves managing a variety of legal matters, leading teams and projects, and overseeing legal operations activities. The Senior Counsel will be responsible for guiding business and functional leaders, managing litigation and investigations, and working with outside counsel to achieve the best results for the enterprise.
The ideal candidate for this role at the company will have a JD from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and current bar admission. An undergraduate or graduate degree in the sciences is also preferred. The role requires a professional with high integrity, excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously on complex legal matters. The Senior Counsel will be expected to proactively identify and implement risk mitigation strategies, manage budgets, and collaborate with various functions within the organization. Knowledge of data privacy and security laws is helpful, and the candidate should be prepared to handle other responsibilities as delegated by the VP, Legal. A collaborative approach and the ability to adapt to new priorities and initiatives are essential for this position.
