This global role is pivotal in supporting marketplace product and impact teams, providing expert legal counsel on a wide range of product-related matters, including but not limited to, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and intellectual property. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on product strategy, operations, and expansion, ensuring compliance with payment laws and regulations, and contributing to the development and launch of new products and features. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, staying abreast of legal and industry trends, and managing legal aspects of projects are key aspects of the role.

Candidates for this position should have a JD and be admitted to a state bar, with a preference for NY or CA, and have at least 6 years of experience dealing with product development issues, ideally in the tech and e-commerce sector. Experience with marketplaces, e-commerce, and ESG issues is a bonus. The role requires the ability to communicate legal issues effectively to technical and business stakeholders, excellent business and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage legal risks while supporting the company's goals. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in training internal teams on legal considerations and compliance requirements and in managing responses to regulatory inquiries and litigation.
