What you'll be responsible for: Circle is looking for a progressive and forward-thinking tax leader to join our team as the Senior Director of Americas tax. In this pivotal role, you may also have the opportunity to lead our Global Tax Operations and Reporting team, with a direct reporting line to the Vice President of Tax. This person will lead a team of tax professionals to keep up to date on tax technical skills, tax technology skills, and implement advanced automated solutions to drive efficiencies. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to our continued growth and success by challenging the status quo.
What you'll work on: Playing a key role in the leadership of the Global Tax organization by advising and providing guidance and input on various organizational matters and strategic organization design.Leading various cross-functional initiatives within the finance organization.Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal partners and peers, and external consultants and statutory auditors.Collaborating with other leaders in the department on tax planning, global tax controversy, internal restructurings, mergers and acquisition and new business initiatives to understand all impacts and considerations.Driving collaboration between tax planning, provision, and compliance/reporting teams to improve efficiency and documentation.Leading tax transformation initiatives to improve consistency, accuracy, and efficiency and reduce overall operating costs. Developing and improving processes on an ongoing basis.Managing outsourced service providers to ensure quality, accuracy of deliverables.Building, leading, developing, and mentoring a strong performing team of tax professionals.Focusing on stakeholder management - Driving relationships with stakeholders including (a) internal business partners in the CFO office, Corp Planning, External Reporting, Treasury Accounting, and other Tax Department groups, and (b) external parties such as statutory auditors.Supporting tax value-added projects such as R&D credit studies, credit documentation including foreign tax credits and investment tax credits.Staying up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization's tax reporting, and communicating relevant updates to internal stakeholdersYou will aspire to our four core values: Multistakeholder - you have dedication and commitment to our customers, shareholders, employees, and families and local communities.Mindful - you seek to be respectful, an active listener and to pay attention to detail.Driven by Excellence - you are driven by our mission and our passion for customer success which means you relentlessly pursue excellence, that you do not tolerate mediocrity and you work intensely to achieve your goals.High Integrity - you seek open and honest communication, and you hold yourself to very high moral and ethical standards. You reject manipulation, dishonesty, and intolerance.What you'll bring to Circle: A deep understanding of how all functions within the tax operations organization contribute to the business, foster professional growth of the team, and develop a strong pipeline of talented tax professionals.15+ years of experience at a multinational corporation and/or public accounting firm.Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, MBA, or JD preferred.CPA preferred.Experience leading and managing complex US reporting structures for multinationals with entities in multiple jurisdictions.Demonstrated track record of standardizing, executing, and documenting end-to-end processes, particularly for compliance and provision.Technical understanding of ASC 740, ASC 718, and ASC 805 for global operations.Working knowledge of transfer pricing, and US international taxes including FDII, GILTI, BEAT, FTCs, and Subpart F.Experience providing guidance and support to other departments on tax-related matters, including training and development initiatives.Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS, and GSuite.
